loginIt was with much joy that I approached revising and updatingFiftyMajor Economists. I learned a great deal while writing the originaledition, and was looking forward to another good learning experi-ence. Also, much has changed within the economics profession sincethe mid-1990s when I first began work on this project. Doing asecond edition of the book has allowed me to think about and writeabout these changes. Two of the most important changes, the rise ofthe new Keynesian school of economics and the rise of behavioraland experimental economics, are reflected in the two new econo-mists included in the book – Joseph Stiglitz and Daniel Kahneman.
