In keeping with the reviewers’ recommendations,we have moved the chapter on Network Protocols to before the chapter on MobileCommunications Systems. Other major changes include splitting the previous singlechapter on Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks into two separate chapters. In this way,we were able to include more of the most recent material on Sensor Networks.We have also enhanced the discussion of the security aspects of both Ad Hoc andSensor Networks. We have also added a major section on Wireless Mesh Networks.In addition, we have included discussions on such new concepts as Femto Cells,Cognitive Radio, and Heterogeneous Networks.
