loginBadakhshan province is located in the northeastern region, bordered by Takhar Province in the west and Nuristan in the south, and shares international borders with Tajikistan in the north, China in the west, and Pakistan in the south. The province covers an area of 47,403 km2. Nearly nine-tenths of the province (89.9%) is mountainous or semi mountainous terrain while one-tenth of the area (9.7%) is made up of flat or semi-flat land, as the following table shows:
