loginOver the past decade we have seen a definite shift in knowledge base of our students.Presently, at pre-university level, mathematics seems to be less integrated with thestudy of physics and some of the most important topics are covered only in FurtherMathematics courses. Results and techniques are often learnt in school as mathe-matical processes without much regard for the underlying principles. Hence, studentsoften find it hard to build up a mathematical description of a physical system fromscratch. This is an essential skill required for any undergraduate degree in physics orengineering.
