Now you will learn how to obtain data for a different watershed using HydroDesktop, a free application for discovering, using, and managinghydrologic time series data. HydroDesktop is designed to exploit the utility of WaterOneFlow Web services developed by the Consortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Science, Inc. (CUAHSI) Hydrologic Information Systems project (CUAHSI-HIS). These services provide a standard access mechanism for hydrologic data, which many organizations such as the United StatesGeological Survey are now using to publish their data. Thus, through HydroDesktop, you have access to a vast wealth of freely available hydrologic data.
